Spectacular Sandy

Nestled in the foothills of Sandy, near the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon lies a now not-so-run-of-the-mill rambler. The house’s placement on the corner lot gave it a massive front yard with a much smaller, u-shaped back yard. Working with Voda landscape architects, we gave the owners hundreds of square feet of extra outdoor living space by building an elevated front courtyard, beautiful (yet low maintenance) landscaping, and raised garden beds in the back yard to provide produce and pollinators. This transformation was nothing short of jaw-dropping when compared to the original landscaping.

BEFORE:

The oversized front yard took forever to mow and was largely unused, due to the lack of any privacy. The original sprinkler system didn’t provide enough water for both the grass and the large birch tree, so both were suffering.

The back yard had several trees that broke up the space into even smaller, unusable areas.

AFTER:

Each area of the yard is now clearly defined with a purpose, giving a much more usable space for the family. From the patio dining and living area off of the back door to the lawn, garden, and trampoline, this
